Georgia AAP introduces its upcoming webinar, “Pediatrician’s Role in Reporting Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome”, taking place Wednesday, May 4th from 12:30PM – 1:30PM. This webinar defines the adequate reporting measures for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome to the DPH and other health entities.

Core objectives for this presentation will be to:

  • Define Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and its prevalence in Georgia
  • List the process for identifying NAS
  • Describe the process for how to report NAS via the Georgia’ State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SendSS); and
  • Illustrate the process for referring newborns with NAS to Children 1st for linkage to early intervention
