Invitation to Membership

The Georgia Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (GOGS) invites you to BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER. With our strong membership, we are able to have a strong voice in the Georgia legislative session every year. Every year since 2005, we have successfully protected tort reform from the inevitable legislative challenges. In the past few years, we have worked to preserve the OBGyns’ right to bill for pap smears, fought to preserve or increase Medicaid pay, and provided experts from our profession to educate legislators about the impact of bills they are considering. We will continue our efforts to protect tort reform, preserve billing rights, and preserve doctor/patient relationships from harmful legislation. The Society also participates in a coalition with others to advocate for adequate Medicaid funding and improved reimbursement from the CMOs. Your support is imperative to the Society’s ability to continue monitoring and positively impacting women’s healthcare legislation.

The Society provides multiple educational and networking opportunities throughout the year for OBGyn physicians to earn CME credits and to fellowship and learn with other physicians. We invite you to join us in membership, not only for personal enrichment, but also for the improvement of our profession in the state of Georgia.

We encourage you to review and complete the GOGS application and become a member of the Society. Any physician who is eligible for membership in a county medical society and whose practice or teaching is limited to obstetrics or gynecology or has a major interest in such fields, is eligible for membership. Board Certification in obstetrics and gynecology is not a requirement for membership.
